Student developer · WebMCP-enabled portfolio

I like turning ideas into useful little tools.

Hi, I'm Sharan. I build web and Android projects—and this portfolio gives people and their AI agents a structured, trustworthy way to explore my work together.

About me

Curious, hands-on, and still very much learning.

I am a student developer who enjoys figuring out how software works by building things from scratch, breaking them, and improving them. I like projects that have a clear use: reminders people will actually see, tools that make information easier to understand, or apps that help someone do a task with less friction.

I also like building computers and learning how the hardware side fits together: parts, upgrades, troubleshooting, storage, performance, and the practical details that make a setup reliable. I try to keep up with new hardware because it helps me understand what is possible before I start building software around it.

I am not trying to sound like I have everything mastered. I am building my skills one project at a time, with a focus on writing clearer code, making better interfaces, and learning how to finish ideas instead of just starting them.

Outside of personal projects, I have spent time in hackathons and volunteer roles where communication matters as much as the code. Those experiences have helped me get better at explaining ideas, working with other people, and staying useful under time pressure.

WebMCP Agent Lab

A portfolio people and agents can explore together.

In a WebMCP-enabled browser, an AI agent can search my projects, retrieve evidence for my skills, compare an opportunity with my experience, and build a collaboration brief. Every tool is read-only, uses only information already published on this page, and shows its result here for shared context.

  • get_profileGet a concise, structured professional profile.
  • search_projectsFind projects by topic, technology, or keyword.
  • match_opportunityMatch a role or project to evidence from my portfolio.
  • build_collaboration_briefCreate a grounded starting brief for working together.
  • get_contact_optionsReturn my public professional contact channels.

Projects

Things I have been building.

These are practical projects I can keep improving over time. Some are finished enough to share, and some are experiments where the next step is making the idea more reliable.

Android app

Smart Daily Wallpaper Scheduler

An Android project that changes the user's wallpaper based on their schedule and preferences. The idea is to make the phone background work like a quiet daily dashboard, with tasks and date-based visual changes visible without opening another app.

This project helped me work with background tasks, Android system APIs, and the challenge of making useful information feel simple instead of cluttered.

Android AR prototype

Wall Scanner 3D Pro

A work-in-progress Android AR prototype for wall scanning and basic 3D room reconstruction. The goal is to detect walls and common wall elements, then create exportable models that could help with renovation planning or room visualization.

The project is still evolving, especially around recognition accuracy and full-room completion. It has been a good way to explore ARCore, computer vision ideas, and the limits of on-device processing.

Home Lab / NAS Setup

Storage, backups, and local access at home.

My NAS/home lab setup is where I experiment with storage, backups, file sharing, and local network access. I use it to keep files organized, practice syncing and backup workflows, and learn how devices talk to each other on a home network.

I am also exploring how it can connect with my SmartHub project, so a local AI assistant can be accessed around the house instead of being tied to one machine. This is still in-progress, but it is helping me learn practical networking, storage, and self-hosting in a hands-on way.

What I use it for

  • File storage and organization
  • Backups and syncing experiments
  • SMB and network sharing
  • Local access across home devices

What I am exploring

  • Remote access and local network experiments
  • Self-hosted tools and services
  • SmartHub access from multiple devices
  • How local AI could run on or connect through a home server

What I'm learning

The next version is always the interesting part.

Cleaner Android architecture

Improving how I structure Android projects so features are easier to test, change, and explain later.

AR and computer vision

Learning the basics behind room scanning, object detection, and the tradeoffs between accuracy and performance.

Better front-end polish

Practicing spacing, contrast, accessibility, and small interaction details so pages feel finished instead of just functional.

Writing better project notes

Getting better at documenting what a project does, what is unfinished, and what I learned while building it.

Computer hardware and home setups

Keeping up with PC parts, storage options, and practical hardware choices so my software and home lab projects are built on setups I understand.

Experience

Hackathons and volunteering.

These roles have helped me practice teamwork, communication, and building under real constraints.

Hackathons

MRU Hacks October 2025

Worked with a team on a safety-focused mobile app during a short hackathon build. I contributed to coding, debugging, user experience improvements, and presenting the final project to judges and participants.
